Email List Building Suggestions That Will Get Long Term Subscribers
Subject Line
Essentially the most important thing is the subject line so what I’m going to do is guide you through an e-mail sequence that’s receiving a 100% open rate and you can see why that is happening.
First thing in our headline is Freedom Ocean. We’re showing viewers what they’ve subscribed to. When they see Freedom Ocean in their inbox, they understand exactly what it is so we’ll always codify the e-mail by placing it in brackets. Then there’s a particular note about what this e-mail is. If we would line up the emails within the inbox it would have a similar codec at the front after which it would say, ‘episode 1, episode 2, episode 3…” and so forth. ‘Episode 6 + transcript is available…’ The transcript is why we believe they’re opening the email.
Sender
Something that many people ignore is the sender. The sender is crucial. In this case it’s James and Tim and people know that this podcast is James Schramko and Tim Reid so that’s really very good. Some nondescript email sender like support@ or even info@ you’ll likely to get that blocked out.
Preview Line
The next action that I’m sure many people forget about will be the preview line. This is just what shows in the inbox before people open it up so be sure you give this some serious consideration. We say ‘Welcome back to the Freedom Ocean’ and we set a social proof line ‘The Number one business podcast on the Australian iTunes store as this email goes out.’ That is just showing folks that this is a flourishing podcast and they actually created the success since they’re the audience. It’s the subscribers that triggered the success.
Then we provide the first link ‘Go to Episode 6′. We’d like people to click that so we actually have a call to action, ‘Go to Episode 6′ it’s clear, it’s blue, it’s bold and it is underlined.
Text Wrap
Finally what we do is we use text wrap, you don’t want your text running across the page. You need to keep it nice and chunked because it’s very easy to see. In fact in SuperFastResults there exists a tool called the text wrapper that allows you to text wrap your words to anything you specify. It’s reallyvery, easy to use this.
